Scheduling Your Skincare: From the Everyday to Lasers

When it comes to skin, a healthy, radiant glow is something makeup can’t replicate. It comes from nourishing and caring for your skin, every single day. But with more and more skincare products and treatments cropping up, it can be a challenge to make sense of what to use and when! In the spirit of making sense of it all, let’s look at the most popular skin care options we offer at YES, from our selection of at-home skincare products to advanced procedures such as non-ablative laser skin resurfacing at our Vancouver clinic.

Daily

It’s important to start and end every day with skincare products that are tailored to your meet your specific needs. At YES, we recommend the medical-grade ZO® product lines, developed by acclaimed dermatologist Dr. Zein Obagi. Available in several formulations, ZO products will help to correct common skin concerns or maintain skin’s existing condition. ZO products use scientifically proven ingredients — in formulations stronger than what you’ll find in any over the counter products.

Monthly

Nourishing skin treatments, such as microdermabrasion, chemical peels, and Hydrafacial, allow for a bit more flexibility. While many patients opt for a one-time treatment prior to an important event, others may incorporate these treatments into their regular regimens, visiting our clinic monthly or even weekly. Not only is this a good way to keep your skin looking its best, it’s also a good opportunity to treat yourself to a bit of quiet beneficial pampering.

We’ll walk you through each of your options during your first visit, as no treatment is universally “best” for everyone. For example, microdermabrasion gently removes the outer layer of (dead) skin and can be a nice “pick-me-up” for skin that looks dull or tired. Hydrafacial is an innovative option that removes dead skin cells while also infusing your skin with customized serums to treat specific skin conditions while nourishing the skin.

As Needed

We recommend non ablative laser skin resurfacing with our Palomar Icon™ fractional laser to help improve textural concerns as well as fine lines and wrinkles. Typically these treatments require 2 to 3 treatments and are performed one month apart. Laser technology actually promotes the development of collagen within skin, creating noticeable, long-term results that can improve both the skin’s surface and its supportive structures.
