Dr. Mosher has been offering a variety of skin rejuvenation laser treatments since 1996 and is an active member of the Canadian Laser Aesthetic Surgery Society (CLASS). He is highly selective when it comes to laser technology, and only offers treatments that are proven to achieve consistent, quality results for his patients.
About the SmartXide Laser
This innovative system utilizes MultiPlex™ technology, Combined Apex Pulse™ (CAP) technology and Xenon Pulsed Light (XPL) technology, for comprehensive skin rejuvenation. This unique combination of three cutting-edge technologies targets all layers of photodamaged and aging skin. In one facial rejuvenation treatment, Vancouver area patients can significantly improve:
- Wrinkles

- Pigmented lesions
- Stretch marks
- Skin laxity
This fractionated laser splits the laser beam into many fine microbeams, which penetrate deep within the skin. Thousands of dots, or pixels, of laser energy are applied to the skin, leaving the tiny treatment zones surrounded by intact, healthy skin. This aids the skin in healing more quickly, and in maintaining enough pigment so that hypopigmentation does not occur.
Treatment with the SmartXide Laser
The advanced technology of the SmartXide system results in treatments that are up to 400% faster than other laser resurfacing options. The improved efficiency of the system means that fewer passes are required, resulting in overall improved comfort and convenience. Typically, one treatment with this system takes 15-20 minutes.
A topical numbing crème may be applied prior to your treatment, but many patients do not need it with this laser. As Dr. Mosher applies the laser to the treatment area, the skin can be simultaneously cooled for optimal comfort. You may experience slight redness - like a sunburn - for a few hours following your treatment. Treatment intensity can be customized to meet your needs, and the intensity will affect downtime and recovery. In general, recovery with the SmartXide laser is much quicker and more comfortable than with competing technology.
While many patients see results after just one treatment, typically a series of 2-4 treatments is recommended for optimal results.
