What is BOTOX® Cosmetic?
BOTOX® Cosmetic is a safe and effective medical product that has been used on millions of patients around the world over the past decade. It is composed of a purified protein which temporarily disables tiny muscles responsible for "dynamic wrinkles" – those caused by repeated facial expressions such as frowning or squinting. A common misconception about BOTOX® Cosmetic is that it "freezes" the face or limits facial expressions. In fact, only the tiny muscles responsible for the wrinkles are affected, leaving the larger facial muscles fully functional. It is very important that BOTOX® Cosmetic be delivered expertly and in an individulaized and precise manner to achieve optimal and natural looking results.

Your BOTOX® Cosmetic Treatment
At our Vancouver area office, BOTOX® Cosmetic treatments are always administered by Dr. Mosher, a plastic surgeon who is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. The procedure is quick and simple, with no downtime and very little discomfort involved. Dr. Mosher will cleanse the area to be treated, then inject BOTOX® with a very tiny needle. Redness and swelling may occur at the injection site, but these effects are usually minimal and will go away quickly. Most patients return to work or routine activities immediately following their 15 minute BOTOX® Cosmetic treatment. Dr. Mosher will give you detailed instructions for your post-treatment care, and you should see noticeable results within 5 to 7 days. You should return for a follow up appointment after 3 or 4 months, when results will begin to diminish. More significant improvement may be achieved with regularly scheduled treatments.
